Teacher/Instructor of Maths  (Part time = 3 days)


QTS Teacher: Grade 7-9 (MS1 £34,017 - MS6 £43,566 FTE)

UQT/Instructor: Grade 6 (£26,075 - £28, 412 FTE)

(The above is based on PP Independent Salary Scale)


PhoenixPlace is a specialist independent school for girls with complex social, emotional and attachment difficulties. We provide education across key stages 3 and 4 and are looking for a dynamic Maths teacher to join our team who can contribute significantly to the positive growth of the school. We are a small and specialist provision, currently educating up to 36 students with the aim to increase capacity over the next few years.

The post holder must be committed, hardworking and passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people. You will need to share our commitment to ensuring that all students are fully prepared and supported for life beyond school.


Responsibilities

The right candidates will have:

  • A passion for making a difference to the education and lives of young people within the school and in building positive and supportive relationships with the ability to establish a quick rapport with staff, students, parents/carers and stakeholders.
  • A proven record of strong subject knowledge and outstanding teaching practice (GCSE/A Level).
  • Proven experience of planning and delivering engaging, creative lessons which meets the needs of individual pupils presenting with a wide range of emotional and attachment-based needs whilst maintaining high standards of education throughout the school.
  • Plan and teach inspirational, multi-sensory and highly differentiated lessons.
  • Strong understanding and skill to analyse and interpret data
  • Experience working with children with SEMH difficulties with a non-judgemental approach to behaviour management
  • The ambition to progress professionally within an expanding, child-centred school.
  • The desire to be engaged in all aspects of school life from academic to pastoral.
  • Emotional resilience
  • The ability to be reflective, dynamic and creative in their practice and be willing to work within the values and ethos of PhoenixPlace.


Qualifications

  • QTS (Desirable but not essential)
  • Educated to degree level (or relevant qualification for post)
  • Successful teaching experience 
  • Evidence of professional development relevant to this role


You will act as an inspirational leader and excellent classroom practitioner to enable our students to be ‘the best they can be’.
